Emily Hett Art
Joy is a feeling we have all likely experienced. Considered ephemeral and mysterious, it is placed at the centre of my practice.
My aim is to make uplifting artworks which spark a moment of joy through creating playful and vibrant artworks inspired by nature across a range of media including ceramics, painting and public sculpture. My practice explores how we can cultivate positive emotion through art by specifically engineering colour and form. Highly decorative, each work embodies abstract shapes and patterns to create an aesthetic of abundance and energy.
I studied Fine Art at Loughborough University, during this time I completed a one year residency at the Manufacturing Technology Centre...this is where I found my love of pattern.
I now spend my days in my garden studio based in the midlands, discovering new patterns, creating ceramics and collaborating on exciting projects to help spread joy into homes and communities.
