This commission was created for Virgin Voyages aboard the Brilliant Lady, in collaboration with weaver Emily Nicolaides. While Nicolaides produced a series of woven wall works, I created a collection of hanging ceramic forms that respond to and interact with the surrounding space. The work explores free-flowing, organic shapes inspired by coral formations, with surface patterns informed by natural marine textures. Working intuitively, each ceramic form was allowed to evolve organically, with subtle variations in shape so the pieces complement one another as a cohesive, coral-like installation. The finished forms now spend their days sailing the seas as part of the Brilliant Lady.![]()
